Some personnel of the Youth in afforestation have besieged the Office of Kessben FM in Kumasi to plead with the appropriate authority to see to it that their several months salary arrears will be paid. On the “Breaking News” this afternoon on Kessben TV and FM, the reporter confirmed to the host, Alibaba Dankambari as he is popularly called, that several guys came to the studios with the plea that they are owing a lot of people because of the failure of the Forestry Commission to pay their salaries.
The leader of the group who goes by the name Blaise Ata who spoke to Kessben media this Wednesday 24th November 2021, said “We have worked with the government since 2018 but anytime we will receive our salary it will be because we have spoken to the media or gone on demonstration. The salary issues have become something else. We don’t know anyone else to speak to again. For the past five months we have not been paid. We have called the Forestry Commission but no one picks and written a lot of petitions but have received no response. So we are here to present our plea through Kessben to the appropriate authority to pay our arrears because we owe a lot”.
Alibaba pleaded with the Agric minister and all concerned to come listen to their pleas and settle them accordingly.
