Ghanaian-Based New Yorker Enstooled as Otumfuo Suadu Nifahene, Vows to Champion Community Development”

A Ghanaian residing in New York, Mr. Augustine Opoku, has been honored with the chieftaincy title Otumfuo Suadu Nifahene at Ampabame in the Bantama Constituency of the Ashanti Region. Following his enstoolment, he will now be known as Nana Boansi Poku.

The traditional leadership of Ampabame and Kwadwokrom bestowed this honor upon him in recognition of his dedication, generosity, and unwavering support for the development of the community.

Call to Fulfill Otumfuo’s Development Vision

During the installation ceremony, Nana Kwabena Bonsu Kanin III, Otumfuo Suaduhene, congratulated Nana Boansi Poku and urged him to use his new position to promote the development agenda of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

“Your new role is not just a title; it is a call to service. We expect you to continue your good works and support initiatives that will uplift our people and fulfill Otumfuo’s vision for Asanteman,” he stated.

Championing Youth Development and Education

Addressing the gathering after his enstoolment, Nana Boansi Poku encouraged the youth to stay away from drug abuse and addiction, emphasizing the dangers it poses to their future. He urged them to focus on education, hard work, and self-discipline.

“Our youth are the future of this community and country. I advise them to reject negative influences and instead embrace education, especially ICT, which will open doors to job opportunities and global connections,” he said.

Pledge to Support Quality Education

As part of his vision for development, Nana Boansi Poku pledged to collaborate with Nana Kwabena Bonsu Kanin III and other key stakeholders to improve education in the community. He highlighted the lack of proper school infrastructure, teaching materials, and scholarships as challenges that must be tackled.

“Education is the foundation for every prosperous society. I am committed to playing my part in ensuring that our children receive the best education possible by supporting school projects and initiatives,” he assured.
