The Forensic Financial Unit (FFU) of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service has arrested and charged two National Executuves of the Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG) Isaac Bampoe Addo the Executive Secretary and Benjamin Otoo the Acting President over an alleged fraudulent withdrawal of an amount of GHS 500 000.00 from the Association’s main Account
The two executives of CLOGSAG were invited by the CID (FFU) where they were interrogated and charged with the offenses of forgery and stealing.
Each of the two executives however, has been granted bail to the sum of Ghs 700,000.00 with two sureties.
Mr. Emmanuel Otoo was the first to respond to the CID’s invitation, which was extended barely two weeks ago. However, Isaac Bampoe Addo only responded to the invitation on Tuesday, March 11, 2025.
This development comes amidst allegations of mismanagement of funds and other accusations that have tarnished the image of CLOGSAG.
Reports suggest that the Ghana Police are conducting a thorough investigation into the allegations of fraud and other criminal charges against the current leadership of CLOGSAG, particularly the two mentioned officials.
It may be recalled that two senior executives of CLOGSAG not long ago petitioned the National Executive Council (NEC) of the Association over series of acts of mismanagement of funds of the Association by the Executive Secretary and the Acting President including the allegation of fraudulent withdrawal of GHS5000,000.00 from the main Account of the Association at Acces Bank.
