The Chief Executive Officer of Dr. Amagashie Herbal Clinic, Apostle Dr. Samuel Amagashie, has made a powerful statement, expressing that Ghana’s 68 years of independence is older than the visible development the country has achieved. He expressed deep concern over the state of the nation, highlighting how unfortunate it is that some leaders of Ghana are more inclined to support foreign investments rather than protecting and nurturing businesses established by local Ghanaians.
He pointed out that, at the age of 68, most of the products used in the country, including something as basic as matchboxes, are still imported from foreign countries. He remarked that this is a sad reflection of the nation’s dependency on other nations, despite having celebrated almost seven decades of independence.
Apostle Dr. Amagashie urged the country’s leaders to continue the great works started by Ghana’s first President, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, instead of relying heavily on foreign investments. He lamented that, after 68 years, Ghana’s leadership has failed to improve the country’s situation.
Furthermore, he highlighted critical issues such as the deplorable state of the country’s roads and the high levels of youth unemployment, emphasizing the need for effective measures to address these challenges.
He concluded that, after 68 years of independence, Ghana is still heavily reliant on imports, with little to no significant improvements to show for the period of sovereignty. He called on the leaders of the country to adopt proactive solutions to help foster local businesses, create jobs, and improve infrastructure for a brighter future.
