Residents of Sekyere Afram Plains (Drobonso) says no to ‘Stranger’ DCE

Concerned Ndc Youth of Sekyere Afram Plains (Drobonso ) in the Ashanti region are calling on the leadership of the party not to impose unfamiliar individual on them as district chief executive for the district.

According to the aggrieved party faithful, Mr. Linus Njonolah, one among the three shortlisted names submitted to the national headquarters of the party for further consideration is not familiar to the district and they are suspecting that, due to his relationship with the national chairman of the party, Mr Aseidu Nketiah his name can be favored among his colleagues which will serve as unfair treatment to their interest.

The aggrieved residents maintained that, Mr. Linus Njonolah only came to the district when he accompanied the former finance minister, Hon Dr. Kwabena Duffour and the late T.K Braimah and after that year 2020,he has not been seen in any major activities of the party and believes his appointment will bring disunite among the party faithful.

Speaking at a press conference held at the district capital, Drobonso, the former constituency chairman of the party, Mr Shadrack Boakye called on the national vetting committee in charge of the ongoing national vetting process of prospective MMDCES nominees to select qualify and known candidate for Sekyere Afram plains district to maintain peaceful environment.

Some of the members also suggested that, since the people of Drobonso Area have being enjoying selection of leadership since the creation of the district, it will be prudent to select someone from Anyinofi Area this era as next DCE to ensure balanced and fairness.

They revealed that, currently both member of parliament, Hajia Nasira Afrah Gyekye and constituency chairman, Mr Abubakar Issaka hail from Samso in Dawia Zone which falls within Drobonso Area and as it is stated in the party’s directives for MMDCE’s selection hence appealing to party leaderships for fair representation of government leadership in the district .
