The Beautiful Ladies of Florence Association, based at Atonsu Sewuah Junction in the Asokwa municipality of the Ashanti Region, has marked its first anniversary with a generous donation to inmates at the Kumasi Central Prison. As part of their celebrations, the association presented assorted items and paid the fines of eight inmates, securing their release.
The donated items included bags of rice, sachet water, soft drinks, medicines, exercise books, mathematical sets, sanitary pads, notebooks, pens, deodorants, toilet rolls, and shaving sticks. The total value of the donation amounted to millions of Ghana cedis.
Speaking to the media, the Chief Executive Officer of the association, Mrs. Florence Nyarko, explained the motivation behind their visit. She stated that the gesture was aimed at showing love and compassion to the inmates while encouraging them to reform and reintegrate into society.
On his part, Mr. James B. Mwinyelle, the Deputy Director of Prisons and Acting Officer in Charge of Kumasi Central Prison, expressed deep gratitude to the Beautiful Ladies of Florence Association for their support. He acknowledged the impact of such donations in improving the welfare of inmates and commended the group for their kindness and generosity.
The event was marked by interactions with the inmates, words of encouragement, and a renewed call for societal support toward prison rehabilitation efforts.
