UK-Based Assemblies of God Freedom Prayer Alliance Uplifts Kumasi Central Prison Inmates with Worship and Humanitarian Support

In a profound act of charity and faith, the Assemblies of God Freedom Prayer Alliance, a Christian fellowship based in the United Kingdom, has extended a hand of compassion to inmates at the Kumasi Central Prison. The delegation, led by dedicated missionaries, provided meals for 150 inmates while conducting a heartfelt worship session aimed at offering both spiritual and emotional relief.

The outreach program, designed to spread hope and the love of Christ, engaged prisoners in prayer, music, and words of encouragement. The visiting team aimed to reassure inmates of their worth and instill a renewed sense of purpose despite their circumstances.

Speaking to the media, Mrs. Mavis Darko, a Ghanaian resident in London and a key figure in organizing the mission, emphasized the deeper purpose of the initiative. “Our visit is about more than just feeding the inmates physically; we want to feed their spirits as well. Many of them feel forgotten, but we are here to remind them that God’s love knows no boundaries,” she expressed.

Accompanying her on the mission were Rev. Israel Ogowuickwu, Mr. Jeffery Adjei Darko, and Ms. Sharicka Sarpong, all of whom played integral roles in the successful execution of the program. Their collective efforts ensured that the inmates not only received physical nourishment but also felt spiritually uplifted through prayers and motivational messages.

Rev. Mrs. Stella Ama Anku Katso, the Ashanti Regional Prisons Chaplain and founder of Amenuve Outreach Ministry, extended her heartfelt gratitude to the team. She highlighted the importance of such humanitarian engagements in the lives of the incarcerated and encouraged other religious and philanthropic organizations to adopt similar initiatives.

“This kind gesture restores hope and reminds inmates that they are not forgotten. The presence of individuals who genuinely care about their well-being has a profound impact on their rehabilitation and emotional resilience,” Rev. Katso noted.

The visit left a significant impression on both the inmates and the visiting team. Many of the prisoners expressed deep appreciation for the support, with some seeking further spiritual guidance and prayers to strengthen their faith journey.

The Assemblies of God Freedom Prayer Alliance remains steadfast in its commitment to humanitarian work and faith-based outreach. Their visit to the Kumasi Central Prison stands as a testament to the power of faith, love, and communal support in transforming lives and instilling hope where it is needed most.
