The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, has paid a visit to the family of the Minister for the Interior and Member of Parliament for Asawase, Hon. Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak, to express his condolences following the passing of his mother.
The visit, which took place at the residence of the bereaved family, saw the IGP and a delegation from the Ghana Police Service extend their sympathies and support to Hon. Muntaka and his relatives in their moment of grief.
Dr. Dampare’s visit underscores the strong bond between the security services and the country’s leadership, particularly at such a difficult time for the Interior Minister, whose portfolio directly oversees internal security and law enforcement in Ghana.
Addressing the family, the IGP expressed his heartfelt condolences and assured them of the police service’s support during this period of mourning. “Losing a mother is a painful experience, and we stand with you in prayer and support as you go through this difficult time,” Dr. Dampare stated.
Hon. Muntaka Mubarak, in response, expressed gratitude to the IGP and his team for their kind gesture, acknowledging the significance of their visit in comforting his family. He described his late mother as a pillar of strength whose guidance and prayers played a key role in his personal and political life.
The visit by the IGP adds to the growing list of high-profile dignitaries who have commiserated with the Asawase MP and his family following the sad news.
The late mother of Hon. Muntaka Mubarak will be laid to rest in accordance with Islamic customs, with funeral arrangements expected to be announced soon.
