KNUST Trains Over 19,000 Freshers in E-Learning to Enhance Digital Education

The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has commenced its annual E-Learning training program for first-year students, equipping them with essential digital skills to navigate the university’s online learning platforms.

On the first day of the training, over 19,000 fresh students at the main campus participated in the session, which focused on key aspects of virtual learning, including the use of video conferencing tools, the psychology of online learning, effective navigation of the upgraded KNUST Learning Management System (LMS), and strategies for preparing for online examinations.

The training was facilitated by [your name if you want to include it], who introduced the students to these critical components of online education. He emphasized the importance of adapting to digital learning, especially in an era where technology plays a significant role in higher education.

“Many of these students come from traditional classroom settings, so it’s essential to guide them in using e-learning tools effectively. Understanding the psychology of online learning and mastering the KNUST LMS will be key to their success,” he noted.

A significant number of participants were from the College of Science, one of the university’s largest faculties. As they embark on their academic journey, the training aims to ease their transition into the university’s blended learning approach, ensuring they can fully utilize digital resources for their studies.

The initiative aligns with KNUST’s vision of promoting technology-driven education, enabling students to engage seamlessly with online courses, attend virtual lectures, and access academic materials anytime, anywhere.

The training will continue in the coming days, covering more topics and providing additional support to ensure all students are well-equipped for their academic journey at KNUST.

Looking Ahead

As the university enhances its digital learning infrastructure, students are encouraged to embrace online education as a tool for flexibility and academic excellence. The facilitators remain committed to supporting them in their adaptation process, ensuring they gain confidence in using e-learning platforms effectively.
