Nana Nkansah Boadu Ayeboafo, the Chief of Agric Nzema, has officially submitted his nomination forms to contest as the Ashanti Regional representative on the Council of State.
The respected traditional leader personally delivered his forms to the Ashanti Regional Electoral Commission (EC) office, fulfilling all requirements outlined by the commission. His application was successfully accepted, paving the way for his participation in the elections scheduled for Tuesday, February 11, 2025.
Accompanying Nana Nkansah Boadu were prominent dignitaries, including Bafour Kantankrankyi, the linguist of Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II; Hon. Mavis Nkansah Boadu, Member of Parliament for Afigya Sekyere East Constituency; and other influential traditional leaders.
Speaking to the media after the submission, Bafour Kantankrankyi, representing Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, expressed strong support for Nana Nkansah Boadu Ayeboafo, describing him as the ideal candidate to represent the Ashanti Region at the Council of State.
“Nana Nkansah Boadu is a man with a good heart and vast experience. His wisdom, leadership qualities, and commitment to progress make him the ideal representative for Asanteman. We believe he is the right person to counsel the President and advocate for the development of the region and the nation,” Bafour Kantankrankyi said.
He urged assembly members across the region to vote overwhelmingly for Nana Nkansah Boadu, emphasizing that his victory would bring significant benefits to the Ashanti Region.
Similarly, Hon. Nana Yaw Wiredu, the Assembly Member for Ahensan Estate and Presiding Member for Asokwa Municipal Assembly, echoed these sentiments. He called on his fellow assembly members to rally behind Nana Nkansah Boadu to ensure the Ashanti Region has a strong voice at the Council of State.
“We need a representative who understands the needs of the region and can articulate them effectively. Nana Nkansah Boadu has proven himself as a visionary leader and a strong advocate for development. I encourage my fellow assembly members to vote massively for him,” Hon. Wiredu stated.
The Electoral Commission has scheduled the Council of State elections for Tuesday, February 11, 2025. The specific venues for the elections will be announced in due course.
