Hundreds of Kumasi Central Prison Inmates Accept Jesus Christ After Feeding Program and Spiritual Service by Ashanti Regional Chaplain

Rev. Mrs. Superintendent Stella Ama Anku Katso, the Ashanti Regional Chaplain for Prisons and Founder of Amenuve Outreach Ministry, has witnessed a powerful spiritual transformation at the Kumasi Central Prison, where hundreds of inmates repented and accepted Jesus Christ after a special feeding program and church service she organized.

Over 1,700 inmates attended the event, where they were provided with meals and also given the opportunity to hear the word of God. The service, led by Rev. Mrs. Katso, included a sermon filled with hope and redemption. Many inmates were deeply moved by the message, and as a result, hundreds gave their lives to Jesus Christ, making a commitment to change and embrace a new path in life.

Speaking to the media after the event, Rev. Mrs. Katso shared her joy over the remarkable response. “This is a moment of spiritual rebirth for these individuals. It’s not just about feeding them physically, but also offering them the chance to experience spiritual transformation,” she said. “The response has been overwhelming, and it’s a blessing to see so many souls turn toward Christ today.”

The Chaplain emphasized the importance of addressing the holistic needs of prisoners, beyond their physical well-being. “While it’s important to provide inmates with food and comfort, their spiritual nourishment is just as crucial. By bringing the message of Jesus Christ to them, we offer them hope, purpose, and a chance for redemption,” she explained.

The feeding program, which is part of Rev. Mrs. Katso’s ongoing mission to support the rehabilitation of prisoners, aims to offer both physical sustenance and spiritual guidance. “Every inmate deserves to know that they are not defined by their past mistakes. This program is designed to give them the opportunity to rebuild their lives with faith and renewed hope,” she added.

In addition to her work with inmates, Rev. Mrs. Katso used the event to urge Ghanaians to support ex-convicts upon their release from prison. She stressed that the reintegration process is a collective responsibility, and society must show love and acceptance to help them transition back into the community. “We must embrace ex-convicts and provide them with opportunities for a fresh start. With love and support, we can help them become productive members of society,” she said.

For many of the inmates, the day marked the beginning of a new chapter in their lives, as they turned to faith for guidance and hope. The feeding program, combined with the opportunity for spiritual reflection, offered them a chance to heal from their past and embrace a future filled with possibility.

Rev. Mrs. Katso’s efforts continue to inspire both prisoners and the broader community, proving that faith, compassion, and second chances are powerful tools in transforming lives. As the Chaplain’s mission progresses, it serves as a reminder that true rehabilitation involves both physical care and spiritual restoration.
