Hon. Dominic Bonsu, the Assembly Member for Takoradi/Afraso Electoral Area and Treasurer for the New Patriotic Party in the Manso Adubia Constituency, has once again demonstrated his deep commitment to the welfare of his community by making significant donations as part of his annual charity initiative for the 2024 Christmas season.
As part of his generosity, Hon. Bonsu donated a wide range of electrical appliances to regular consumers in the area. The donated items included 40 32-inch televisions, 10 rice cookers, 10 standing fans, 10 electric irons, 10 kettles, and mobile phones. The distribution of these items was based on the customers’ regularity and loyalty to his services.
In addition to the gifts for consumers, Hon. Bonsu also extended his support to vulnerable groups in the community. He donated to 96 aged individuals, widows, and persons with disabilities. Though he aimed to support all 96, he managed to assist 85 individuals in need. Each widow received a cash donation of GH₵200, a gesture that touched many lives.
Looking ahead, Hon. Bonsu plans to host a special event for children in the Takorase/Afraso Electoral Area. A children’s party is scheduled for December 29, 2024, where he will bring joy to the local children during the festive season.
Furthermore, Hon. Bonsu will also meet with pastors in the Takorase area tomorrow, offering GH₵500 to each pastor in a demonstration of support for their spiritual leadership and community roles.
Reflecting on his campaign promises, Hon. Bonsu shared that he had pledged to assist 50% of the women in the local markets when elected. True to his word, he is fulfilling his commitment by providing GH₵1,000 each to 50 market women to help support and grow their businesses.
In another display of compassion, Hon. Bonsu has presented Christmas gifts in the form of cash donations to 25 widows in his electoral area as part of his ongoing effort to uplift the less fortunate.
Looking ahead into the new year, Hon. Bonsu has plans to further support the local economy. On January 2, 2025, he will be giving working capital to 50 market women in Manso Takorase as part of his broader plan to help boost the economic activities in the area.
The beneficiaries of these donations expressed their deep gratitude for Hon. Bonsu’s kindness and generosity. Many noted that his thoughtful contributions have brought immense joy and relief to families who would otherwise have faced difficulties during the holiday season.
In response to the outpouring of gratitude, Hon. Bonsu remarked, “It is a privilege to be in a position to support my community, and I am grateful for the opportunity to give back to those who have supported me throughout my journey. May God bless you all, and I will continue working hard to improve our community.”
This charitable gesture by Hon. Dominic Bonsu reflects his unwavering commitment to improving the lives of the people in his electoral area and the broader Manso Takorase community. His efforts continue to make a significant impact, especially during this festive season.
