The Asona Family of Piase, in the Bosomtwe District of the Ashanti Region, has formally apologized to the Omanhene of Kuntenase, Barima Ogyeabour Amankwaah Adunan II, following a press conference organized by the youth of Piase. The youth had recently accused the Kuntenase chief of being anti-development, sparking a wave of tension and unrest in the area.
In a public statement, the elders and leaders of the Asona Family distanced themselves from the controversial allegations made during the press conference. They expressed deep regret for the actions of the youth and made it clear that they do not support the claims against the Omanhene.
The Asona Family emphasized that Barima Ogyeabour Amankwaah Adunan II has not taken any actions that could be considered harmful to the development of Piase or its people. They stated that the accusations were not a reflection of the views of the entire Piase community, but rather the actions of a few individuals.
“We are truly sorry for the pain this incident may have caused you, Omanhene,” said the Asona Family in their statement. “We want to make it clear that the entire Piase community did not organize this press conference. It was only a small group of individuals who acted inappropriately.”
Additionally, the Asona Family called out the Chief of Piase, Nana Afriyie Gyamera, accusing him of being the one who sponsored the youth to organize the press conference. They expressed disappointment in his involvement, describing it as an unfortunate and damaging act for the peace and unity of the community.
The apology from the Asona Family aims to heal the rift caused by the youth’s actions and restore a sense of unity in the region. The family reaffirmed their support for the Omanhene and expressed their commitment to collaborating with him for the continued progress and development of the community.
