Stephen Ntim Rallies NPP Members After 2024 Election Loss

The National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Stephen Ntim, has called on party members and supporters to remain steadfast and focused in the wake of the party’s defeat in the 2024 general elections. Addressing the press on the party’s electoral outcome at the NPP Headquarters in Asylum Down on Monday, 23 December 2024, Mr. Ntim acknowledged the difficult period but reaffirmed the party’s resilience and readiness to rise again.

“This is a difficult time for us as a Party, but we are a resilient people,” Mr. Ntim stated. “We must, and we will rise again from this defeat. We are reorganizing ourselves for the battles of tomorrow.”

He urged members not to lose hope, emphasizing the importance of unity and collective strength in rebuilding the party. “Fellow Party Members, this means we cannot give up. We must engage the restructuring process with all the energies we can muster to get the elephant trumpeting again. Kukrudu!!! Kukrudu!!! Kukruuuuduuu!!!” he declared, evoking the party’s symbol, the elephant, as a rallying cry for perseverance.

Appreciation of Efforts

Reflecting on the NPP’s efforts leading up to the 2024 polls, Mr. Ntim expressed pride in the dedication and hard work of the party’s leadership, campaign teams, and its broader membership. He noted that the NPP entered the election season with optimism and a determined focus on securing a victory.

“Our aim was to secure an emphatic victory, and we worked very hard at it,” Mr. Ntim explained. “As a party, we put in our best efforts during the campaign.” He lauded the contributions of various campaign teams, from those at the grassroots level to the national leadership, for their relentless dedication and commitment. The NPP Chair also thanked the party’s supporters, acknowledging their unwavering support and tireless work in the lead-up to the election.

Acknowledging the Outcome

Despite the party’s vigorous efforts, Mr. Ntim admitted that the outcome of the election did not align with the NPP’s expectations. “There is no doubt that the outcome of the elections was not what we hoped for. We may not have won the battle, but we haven’t lost the war on our quest for a better Ghana, shaped by the ideals and philosophies of the NPP,” he stated.

He empathized with the disappointment felt by party members and supporters, recognizing the emotional toll of the election results. “We understand your disappointments because we feel it too, just as the hundreds of thousands of Ghanaians who invested their hopes and dreams in this campaign do,” he added. Mr. Ntim reiterated that the party would continue to push for a better Ghana, aligned with the NPP’s vision for the country’s development.

Unity and Restructuring Efforts

In his address, Mr. Ntim called on NPP members to remain united in the face of this setback. He urged them to channel their energies into the party’s restructuring efforts as they prepare for future elections. The NPP Chair stressed that the party must not allow this defeat to discourage them. Instead, he encouraged members to view the loss as an opportunity to rebuild, refocus, and strengthen the party’s foundation for the future.

“We must not let this defeat discourage us. Instead, it should galvanize us to work harder, correct our mistakes, and ensure that the NPP regains its footing as the party of choice for Ghanaians,” he asserted.

The NPP’s leadership, under Mr. Ntim, has vowed to learn from the election results and implement the necessary changes to restore the party’s strength. As the party begins the process of restructuring, it is clear that the NPP remains committed to its long-term vision of a prosperous Ghana shaped by its core ideals.

The coming months will be crucial as the NPP works towards regaining its momentum and preparing for future political challenges. The party is expected to intensify its focus on strengthening its grassroots support, refining its strategies, and ensuring that it remains a formidable force in Ghana’s political landscape.
