Mr. Robert Osei, also known as Atulepeepe, a prominent figure and patron for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Amansie West Constituency, has organized an exciting inter-party fun games event. The games, which included Draught, Ludu, Snooker, and Oware, brought together leaders and supporters from various political parties contesting in the 2024 elections, in an effort to foster unity, camaraderie, and peace within the Atwima Kwanwoma Constituency.
The event, held at a vibrant venue at Brofoyedru in Atwima Kwanwoma constituency of the Ashanti Region , saw representatives from major political parties, including the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), the National Democratic Congress (NDC), and other smaller political entities. The games were designed not only to promote healthy competition but also to encourage political leaders and their followers to interact in a non-violent and friendly environment ahead of the December elections.
In a speech to the media during the event, Mr. Robert Osei emphasized the critical importance of maintaining peace throughout the election period. He called on all political parties to prioritize a peaceful and harmonious atmosphere before, during, and after the elections. Mr. Osei highlighted that the success of the elections depends not only on the democratic process but also on the ability of the country’s political leaders and supporters to act responsibly and peacefully, regardless of the outcomes.
“As we approach December 7, let us remember that the foundation of our democracy lies in peace. It is our collective responsibility to ensure that the elections are conducted in a calm and orderly manner, without any violence or disruptions,” Mr. Osei said. “Today’s games are a symbol of what we can achieve when we come together as one nation, despite our political differences.”
Several political leaders present at the event shared their commitment to upholding peace and encouraging their supporters to avoid any acts of violence or electoral malpractice. They emphasized that the primary goal is to ensure that the election process is fair, transparent, and free from any form of intimidation or unrest.
“We, as political leaders, are committed to ensuring that the December 7 elections will be peaceful. It is important that we set a good example for our supporters by choosing unity and peace over conflict,” stated a representative from the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Other political party representatives also echoed similar sentiments, expressing their readiness to cooperate and work together to ensure a peaceful election process, regardless of the results.
The inter-party fun games were a resounding success, with participants enjoying a day of friendly competition and bonding. The event ended on a high note, with leaders from all parties renewing their commitment to a peaceful election season.
As the country prepares for the December 7 general elections, the call for peace and unity has never been more important.
