Ghana Enterprises Agency Trains Ghana Union of Traders Women’s Wing on Financial Bookkeeping

The Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA) has organized a financial bookkeeping training for the Women’s Wing of the Ghana Union of Traders Association (GUTA). The program, held in Kumasi today, aimed to empower women traders with essential financial management skills to enhance their business operations and ensure sustainability.

During the workshop, participants were introduced to fundamental bookkeeping principles, including cash flow management, record-keeping, and profit analysis. Facilitators stressed the importance of maintaining accurate financial records to improve access to credit facilities and strengthen business decision-making.

Speaking to the media after the workshop, Madam Afia Sarpong, the Ashanti Regional President and Organizer of the Ghana Union of Traders Women’s Wing, expressed gratitude to the GEA for the initiative. She noted that the knowledge gained would significantly improve the financial practices of the participants.

On his part, Mr. Anthony Oppong, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the Ghana Union of Traders, emphasized the importance of the training. He remarked that the knowledge of bookkeeping would help the market women manage their businesses better and urged them to apply the skills learned.

“I encourage all participants to make good use of this training to promote and grow their businesses,” Mr. Oppong advised.

 

The workshop highlights GEA’s commitment to strengthening the capacity of small-scale traders, particularly women, to ensure sustainable business growth and contribute to Ghana’s economic development.
