The Christian Journalists Association of Ghana (CJAG) has launched a groundbreaking initiative dubbed the Evangelism Road Initiative Program (ERIP) to combine humanitarian efforts with evangelism. The initiative, which was unveiled by the National President of the association, Mr. Armstrong Kusi Obuodum, popularly known as Evangelist Obour, aims to address critical infrastructure challenges while spreading the gospel of Christ.
Linking Development to Evangelism
Speaking at the launch, Evangelist Obour explained that the ERIP was conceived to repair and grade deplorable roads leading to remote communities before engaging the residents in evangelism. According to him, this unique approach is designed to not only win souls for Christ but also contribute to the socioeconomic development of Ghana.
“As part of the Evangelism Road Initiative Program, we will hire construction machines, buy fuel, and pay drivers to grade bad roads leading to communities. Once these roads are improved, we will engage the residents and share the word of God to win souls into the kingdom of Christ,” he said.
Evangelist Obour emphasized that this initiative is a practical demonstration of the association’s commitment to addressing the physical and spiritual needs of people, aligning with one of CJAG’s key objectives of supporting humanity and fostering peace and development in Ghana.
A Vision for Humanity and Development
The CJAG President also revealed that the association has several other initiatives in the pipeline aimed at improving lives and promoting national development. While he did not provide full details of these upcoming projects, he assured the public that they would focus on addressing pressing issues in health, education, and infrastructure, among others.
“Our goal as Christian journalists goes beyond reporting the news. We want to make a tangible difference in people’s lives. ERIP is just the beginning; we have many more programs lined up to support humanity and contribute to the peace and development of Ghana,” he added.
Call for Support
Evangelist Obour called on stakeholders, including churches, businesses, and individuals, to support the ERIP and other CJAG initiatives. He noted that partnerships and collaborations are vital to achieving the association’s vision of combining evangelism with tangible development efforts.
“We cannot do this alone. We appeal to all well-meaning Ghanaians to join us in this mission to transform lives and communities, both physically and spiritually. Together, we can build a better Ghana,” he said.

The Evangelism Road Initiative Program has been lauded as a unique approach to evangelism, combining faith with practical action to address community challenges. Residents of communities expected to benefit from the program have expressed their gratitude, noting that the initiative would bring much-needed relief while strengthening their faith.
With the launch of the ERIP, the Christian Journalists Association has set an inspiring example of how faith-based organizations can contribute meaningfully to national development while fulfilling their spiritual mission.
