In a resounding show of confidence, the Pentecostal Church of Christ has re-elected Apostle Dominic Nyamekye as its National Chairman for a second term. The decision, made at the church’s annual general meeting, saw Apostle Nyamekye win a unanimous vote, reaffirming his leadership and dedication to the spiritual growth and development of the church.
During an interview following his re-election, Apostle Nyamekye expressed deep gratitude to church members and the leadership team for their unwavering support. He outlined his vision for the next five years, which includes expanding the church’s reach by establishing new branches across Ghana, with a mission to “win more souls for God’s Kingdom.” He emphasized his commitment to guiding the church in its spiritual journey and bringing the word of God to more communities.
Apostle Nyamekye took the opportunity to address the nation ahead of the 2024 general elections, calling for unity and peace. “Ghana is the only country we have, and we cannot afford to let politics divide us. Election violence benefits no one,” he said. He urged political leaders, especially the presidential flagbearers of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC), to be mindful of their campaign messages and avoid insults or inflammatory language on campaign platforms.
He also advised the youth of Ghana to resist any influence by politicians that may incite violence before, during, or after the elections. “The youth have an essential role to play in maintaining peace. We must protect our country’s future by upholding the values of unity and tolerance,” Apostle Nyamekye added.
Supporting the Chairman’s sentiments, the church’s General Secretary, Apostle Isaac Oteng Antwi, praised the peaceful election process within the church, describing it as a sign of God’s presence among the people. He thanked the church’s leadership and congregation for their cooperation, highlighting that Apostle Nyamekye’s re-election symbolizes a renewed commitment to the church’s mission.
Apostle Oteng Antwi called upon church members to support the leadership in transforming the Pentecostal Church of Christ and to work tirelessly towards winning souls for Christ. “Our core mission is to lead more people to eternal life, and it is the business of the church to bring more souls to salvation,” he said. Additionally, he encouraged all members to exemplify peace and uphold Christian values during the election period, serving as role models for the broader community.
The Pentecostal Church of Christ, under Apostle Nyamekye’s leadership, is set to continue its efforts in community outreach, soul-winning, and nation-building. Both church leaders emphasized that their faith community has a responsibility to influence society positively, not only through worship but also by promoting peace and unity in the national context.
With his re-election, Apostle Nyamekye is now tasked with steering the church into a new era of growth and service, while his message of peace echoes as a timely reminder for Ghanaians as they approach a significant election year.
