Akropong R/C Junior High School (JHS) has claimed the championship title in the 2024 Frank Yeboah Inter-Community Spelling Bee Competition, demonstrating outstanding spelling skills and academic dedication. This annual competition, organized by Mr. Frank Yeboah, the NPP parliamentary candidate for Atwima Nwabiagya North, brings together young learners from public schools across the constituency to inspire a love for learning and literacy.
Held at Adankwame the constituency’s market center, this year’s competition was a lively affair, showcasing the impressive talents of students from multiple schools. Barekese JHS earned second place and received a prize of 1,500 Ghana cedis, while Dabaa JHS took third place, walking away with 1,000 Ghana cedis.
In his remarks following the event, Mr. Frank Yeboah, who also serves as the CEO of the Frank Yeboah Foundation, commended all participants for their hard work and highlighted the broader purpose of the spelling bee. He explained that the initiative aims to create future leaders and professionals in fields like engineering, nursing, and civil service, which he hopes will contribute to the development of Atwima Nwabiagya North and Ghana as a whole.
“It is inspiring to see these young students work so hard and perform so well,” Mr. Yeboah said. “Our goal is to encourage their academic growth and give them the confidence to pursue rewarding careers. One day, I hope to see them become leaders who contribute to our constituency and our nation.”
Mr. Yeboah also congratulated the winning school, Akropong R/C JHS, for their remarkable performance, and praised Barekese JHS and Dabaa JHS for their impressive showings. He encouraged all participants to continue their educational journeys with determination and focus.
The students, in turn, expressed their appreciation to Mr. Yeboah and the Frank Yeboah Foundation for providing this platform. They noted that the experience had helped them build confidence and improve their language skills, promising to work hard in their studies and strive for excellence.
In addition to hosting the spelling bee, Mr. Yeboah fulfilled his earlier promises to residents of Atwima Nwabiagya North by distributing 20 streetlight bulbs, a motor king machine, and fertilizers, supporting local development efforts. He reassured the community of his commitment to bringing more resources and opportunities to the area, especially if he is elected as Member of Parliament.
