NPP HAVE NOT ABANDONED MAHAMA’S HOSPITALS – COLLINS ADOMAKO MENSAH INSIST

The Member of parliament for Afigya Kwabre North Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Hon. Collins Adomako Mensah has stated that the Akufo-Addo led government has not abandoned hospital projects started by the erstwhile Mahama administration.

According to him, several hospitals started by the Mahama administration, some are currently ongoing, others have been completed, commissioned and currently in use.

Contrary to the critics, the member of parliamentary select committee on health emphasized that there is enough evidence to prove that they have also completed or working to complete many projects that the New Patriotic Party inherited in 2017.

“Contrary to propaganda, in addition to what we have done, we have also completed several health projects that we inherited from the previous government,” he told the host of New Day FM Morning Show.

His comments on New Day FM Morning Show on Wednesday, 18, were in response to critics that have urged the government to complete old health projects instead of constructing 88 new hospitals as announced by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

He counted that the 60 hospital bed’s capacity at Twifo Praso and Sampa have been operationalized by the current government.

According to the Afigya Kwabre North MP, civil works at 500 bed Afari hospital site, 250 bed’s Ashanti regional hospital are about 90 percent complete and works on 170 bed hospital at Wa is still ongoing amongst others, he said.

According to the Lawmaker, the government had decided to undertake a major investment in the healthcare infrastructure, that’s the Agenda 111 policy which will be the second biggest legacy of President Nana Akufo Addo apart from his Free SHS policy in the country’s history.

In his conclusion, he revealed that the funding for the Agenda 111 hospital will be on 3 budget cycle adding that, the finance minister in his subsequent budget review will request additional funding to execute the said projects.
