In the interest of local governance and development, the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) convened a special meeting at the Prempeh Assembly Hall to review and discuss its Action Plan and Budget for the 2024 fiscal year.
This meeting which was held on Tuesday August 27, 2024 was crucial for scrutinizing the Action Plan and Budget, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively to meet the city’s development objectives and needs.
The meeting was attended by Assembly members, departmental heads, and unit heads.
Attendees had ample time to critically evaluate the 2024 plan and budgetary provisions and contribute to shaping it in line with the Assembly’s agenda.
The plan primarily focuses on infrastructure development and staff capacity building, while the budget presentation centered on income and expenditures from internally generated funds, grants, and other sources of income for the Assembly.
In an interview with the media, Kumasi Metropolitan Chief Executive, Hon. Samuel Pyne, provided an update on ongoing projects.
He informed news reporters that the Agenda 111 Hospital Project at Bohyen Ampabame and other developmental initiatives in the metropolis were steadily progressing.
“These projects are crucial for Kumasi’s development, and we are committed to ensuring their timely completion and effective implementation,” Hon. Pyne stated.
Presiding Member (PM) of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly, Hon. Patrick Kwame Frimpong, seized the opportunity to advise the public to promote good sanitation practices.
He appealed to residents of Kumasi to keep their environment clean.
“We all have a role to play in maintaining a clean and healthy environment. It’s imperative that we support sanitation efforts to enhance our quality of life,” PM urged.
