34 years old Francis Osei Tutu on the run for his life after giving vital information to police to help them find notorious armed robbers,narrating his story to the media OT as his affectionately known by his peers,who works as an assistant supervisor said “I lost my dad so am staying with my mother and my 2 sisters,when my father died his family took over all his properties including his businesses,so as the first son l had to find to a job to provide for the family,I worked in a restaurant in Kumasi as an assistant supervisor, around that area there were some notorious guys around this place living in luxurious cars without anyone knowing what work they do and since they have money they are also friends with the policemen in the area as well,so on the 1st week of April(2/04/2024) midnight l witness armed robbery in the house opposite our restaurant which was owned by one guy from Europe, unfortunately for then i witness all the incident on a CCTV camera at our restaurant.So the next day after the incident ClD started their investigations after the case was reported to them in and around the stolen house,from the camera it was shown that it was same guy’s who are known in the area living and driving expensive cars,since the house was near to our restaurant the CID came asking questions as they normally do wanting to know how it all happened.As a supervisor who was on duty that day they ask me to know whether I can assist them to find the culprit,they assured me not to be afraid of saying anything I know concerning the way robbery,they promise to protect me and hind my identity so I shouldn’t worried.With the assurance given to me by the CID officers l then told them everything l know about case and went ahead to show them the footage on our CCTV footage,since that day l have never have peace of mind the armed robbers has now got to know that it was me that provided the evidence to the police so they have been harassing me everyday and night.With the fear of loosing my life my mother advice me to run for my life because I’m the only hope she has in life after loosing my father.She gave me some amount of money and l added the little l had and run away.”he said.
This issue has raised a lot of eyebrows as to whether the public should keep on assist the police or what.
