Ejurahene honoured by Ejura Zongo Youth for his continuous contribution towards development

The chief of Ejura Divisional Council Barimah Osei Hwedie II has been honoured for his continuous contribution towards the development of Ejura-Sekyeredumase Municipality

Barimah Osei Hwedie II who doubles the Protocol Officer at the Office of the Vice president of Ghana received the award for his statesmanship and for playing a pivotal role in promoting peace, harmony and development across the Municipality.

The renowned Civil Servant was awarded by Ejura Zongo Youth when the group called the chief to congratulate him after the official opening of Ejurahene’s new radio station Akyama Fm.

Speaking to OTEC News Reporter Jacob Agyenim Boateng in , chairman for Ejura Zongo Youth, Alhaji Idrisu Abdul Kadir said the group the chief with citation and certificate to show their appreciation to the traditional leader for exhibiting Selflessness since ascending the throne in the last eight years

“You have not only proven your worth as traditional ruler, a civil servant, a farmer, father and a philanthropist, but you have over the years demonstrated your commitment to the development of Ejura and the Municipality as a whole, in recognition of your contribution and service to the traditional council and Ejura residents and Ghana for that matter, Ejura Zongo Youth conveys to you it’s grateful appreciation “. The citation read.

“Ejurahene is one in a kind, one significant thing we are grateful to him for, is the fact that, he has been able to unite all tribes promoting peaceful coexistence in the communities around Ejura “.He noted

“We can now sleep in peace as the previous fights and attacks between groups and other tribes have been taking care of due to the able leadership of our benevolent chief”

Alhaji Kadir again disclosed that, through the efforts of Ejurahene, some Zongo Youth are studying medicine abroad, making it the first ever time a Zongo boy from Ejura is being trained to become a doctor.

He thanked the chief for helping youth in the area.

Ejurahene’ Assurance

For his part, Ejurahene Barimah Osei Hwedie II reiterated his commitment to work with all stakeholders in the area to promote peace, unity and development among the people.

He noted that, Ejura and Ghana for that matter needed peace and unity as well as meaningful contribution from all, irrespective of political, ethnic, tribal or religious backgrounds, to confront the current socio-economic challenges facing the country.
