As the chase for political appointments in the second term of the governing New Patriotic Party under H.E the President of the Republic, Nana Akufo-Addo gets heated, the next person to occupy the seat of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) as the Chief Executive Officer has been a very close competition among key members of the party.
Currently, the six nominees which got leaked on social media, sources say, has been cut down to four after vetting, which the President will appoint one as the Mayor of KMA.
Among the four that are cleared by the Vetting Committee, SeancityGh is learning, are the current Chief Executive Officer, Hon Osei Asibey Antwi, the Ashanti Regional Secretary of the party, Mr Samuel Pyne, Ing. Atta Poku and the former Member of Parliament for Nhyiaeso Constituency, Hon Kennedy Kwasi Kankam.
However, members of the party and social media fans from the region have been in support of the former Member of Parliament for Nhyiaeso Constituency, Hon Kennedy Kwasi Kankam to be given the position by thePresident.
Hon Kennedy Kwasi Kankam has been an Ashanti Regional Youth Organiser and Regional Organiser of the NPP, before serving as an MP for Nhyiaeso Constituency for a four year term.
His organisational style, his human relationship quality and ambition for the well being of the Ashanti Regional capital, put him ahead of his contenders in the race.
