Prof Quarm sold the concession to me – Excavator victim shockingly reveals, cries for justice

A crying man who got his two excavators burnt at Manso Nsiana in the Amansie West district of the Ashanti region is currently seeking for justice as he sees no default in his operation that could lead him to this sorrow.

According to Mr. Eric Owusu, CEO of Mighty K Senkyire ventures, he wonders circumstances that led to the burning of his excavators.

“I had traveled when I received a call on Sunday from a strange person who claimed he was a member of the Operation halt. After a bit interaction on the phone, he told me he was going to burn my excavators because my site was at a default. He said his videoing checks revealed I was working on River Subin of which I denied. I told him there was no river because, as you can see here, I’ve digged a borehole that generates water for my site.

He kept on insisting he was going to burn my excavators. So I told him to wait for me to come since I had a very legit document of which I told him the seller of the concession could testify. The call ended as I thought everything was okay”. He soberly explained his ordeal.

Hon Daniel Kwaku Mensah (DKM) Amansie West district Mining Sub-committee convener

Mr. Owusu who prays for justice cried that his two excavators causing 32 billion old Ghana cedis were burnt by the said soldiers. “I am a legal miner who practice mining on the site with a legal document without a default to any of the president’s directives. Even if I’m at fault they should have seized my excavators and after an investigation, the government could take the machines, should I be found guilty. Why treat me like a criminal?”. He quizzed.

A visit to the site by this reporter revealed that the man had dig a borehole which pumps water to the site through another stream full of water.
The stream which is full of water was believed to be an old large stream like trench created by some other miners.

Speaking to the man, he shockingly revealed that Prof. Quarm sold the said concession which was described by the Operation Halt team as illegal to him.

Meanwhile, in an audio making rounds, Prof. Quarm could be heard saying the said man got his excavators burnt because he was mining in a forest.

“His security men attacked the operation halt team in the forest, and that’s why they brought the anger to his site at Nsiana”. Prof. Quarm is heard saying this in an audio to defend that the land sold to the man isn’t illegal.

Moreover, a further checks revealed that the said operatives had wanted to deal with the seller of the concession during their operation but could not locate him since nobody was ready to identify him by then due to the absence of the CEO.

An assembly member who explained his ordeal on how he was attacked by the team said they chased him like a thief.
“One of the soldiers called his colleagues to shoot me whiles I was running. Look at my legs, I got a severe injury during the process. I had hide in the bush, why would they treat me like this whiles I haven’t done anything wrong”.

According to Hon. James Adomako, assembly member the Nsiana electoral area, his attack was in connection with the man’s concession which they described as an illegal one that was not supposed to be sold to him.
“I knew nothing about the concession. I didn’t sell any concession”. He cried.

Meanwhile, Prof. Quarm could be heard on once again in the said audio that the assembly member was attacked because the operatives thought he was one of the employees of the CEO whose excavators got burnt.
