Parliamentary candidate hopeful for the Mfantseman Municipality on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Hon. Fiifi Buadu who declared his support for Hon. Emmanuel Coffie in the upcoming parliamentary primaries has been admitted at the Mercy Women’s Catholic Hospital on Sunday after he complained of uneasiness due to a suspected case of food poisoning.
One of the suspects, Ofosuhen Gyimah has been arrested and remanded for two weeks imprisonment by the Mankessim Circuit Court 2 following police investigations into the matter.
Paying a courtesy call to the Emergency Unit reveals that he is under treatment and his condition is stable.
Sources also disclosed that, police attempts made to reach his wife (one of the suspects), Maria Hattum, the Constituency Women’s Organizer for the Mfantseman Constituency proved futile.
Sources available to the media noted, that the Food Safety Commissioner to look into the incident and file a report.
Sources emphasized that samples have been collected and testing will be conducted at the government food testing lab.
