The National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) has confirmed that the body of a 21-year-old woman who drowned at Bremang New York in the Suame Municipality has been recovered.
A rescue effort was launched on 8 March after Francisca Amoah Serwaa, a junior high school student, was reported to have vanished after being swept away in floodwaters on that day.
Leticia Oppong Gyebi, the Suame municipal director of the National Disaster Management Organisation, confirms that although her family has been notified, formal identification has not yet taken place.
The body has since been deposited at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) morgue for preservation and autopsy.
