I Received An Award From The Ghana Armed Forces For My Role In Bringing Peace To Bawku— Musah Abdulai

A staunch member of the National Democratic Congress and former Municipal Chief Executive for Bawku, Musah Abdulai has indicated that, the Ghana Armed Forces presented to him a plaque of recognition for his selfless efforts in bringing peace back to Bawku during his days in office. Mr Abdulai was the MCE for Bawku from 2009 to 2013 during which a protracted conflict which was ignited in 2017 drew its curtains.

Bawku is known for the unfortunate intermittent violence between Kusasis and Mamprusis over chieftaincy for several decades now. Currently there is a fresh ignition of the long lasted conflict that was quenched during the days of Musah Abdulai as MCE. The recent one which has taken close to hundred lives started in November 2021 and total peace is yet to rain. Currently the municipality is under curfew with ban on motor riding and other measures including security patrols.

The Bawku Conflict has deteriorated development in the area and also destroyed numerous valuable lives and property. Mr Abdulai thinks authorities need to put more effort in bringing the barbaric situation to its knees.
