A woman believed to be in her early thirties was, Thursday, August 04, 2022, burnt to death at Chaggu, a community in the Wa East District of the Upper West Region.
Madam Bintu met her untimely death when a room, which is believed to be store room, caught fire at about 9:00pm Thursday night.
Confirming the incident to Info Radio in an interview, the Assembly member of the Chaggu electoral area, Abdulai Shahid said the body has since been buried upon agreement with the security agencies that came to the scene shortly after the incident.
The Assembly member said the police were again on the scene on Friday morning to commence investigations.
He said the District Chief Executive (DCE) and officials of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) also came to the community to see for themselves the incident and to commiserate with the family.
