The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II on Wednesday (27 April) attended the St. Cyprian’s Anglican Church in a grand fashion to mark his 23rd anniversary on the Golden Stool of Asanteman.
Otumfuo Osei Tutu II who was accompanied by his wife Lady Julia Osei Tutu also used the occasion to express gratitude to God for his blessings over the past two decades .
The church service, which was characterized by the singing of praises and worship, was attended by dignitaries including paramount and divisional chiefs and queen mothers in the Ashanti Region.
Known in private life as Barima Kwaku Duah, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, was enstooled as the 16th occupant of the Golden Stool at ag3 49 on 26 April 1999 succeeding his late brother, Otumfuo Opoku Ware II.
The celebration was also attended by a number of dignitaries including the Ashanti Regional Minister Simon Osei-Mensah , former Black Star captain Asamoah Gyan among others.
