The Minister of Roads and Highways, Kwasi Amoako Attah has asked Newmont Ghana Gold Ltd. to urgently reconstruct the Hwidiem to Kenyasi Road which leads to the Ahafo South Mine.
The ten-kilometre stretch, when rehabilitated, he said, would be critical in enhancing the socio-economic life of the people of the area, as well as improving operational efficiency of the company.
He made the appeal when some delegation from Kenyase paid a courtesy call to the roads ministry and the ministry of National security in Accra over the weekends.
Speaking to Akoma Fm’s Kwame Yeboah in interview the Group leader Boakye Bofa said Newmount company must do the work as early as possible as the Minister instructed.
Meanwhile the irate youths said they will demonstrate against Newmount company if they fail to comply with the Minister directive.
