Asante Mampong, one of the strongest political strongholds of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), is gearing up for its parliamentary primaries, and aspiring candidates are actively engaging delegates to secure the party’s nomination. Among the contenders is Beatrice Owarewaa Siaw, an American-based native of Asante Mampong, who has officially declared her intention to contest the upcoming election.

Madam Siaw has commenced an extensive outreach programme, engaging party delegates across the constituency to present her vision and development agenda. During one of her consultations, she highlighted her deep commitment to the growth and progress of Asante Mampong.

Speaking passionately about her intentions, Madam Siaw emphasized that her candidacy is driven by a desire to bring transformative change to the area. “I want to become a change for the people of Mampong,” she stated. “Even though I am not yet a Member of Parliament, I have always seen myself as a servant of the people, and I have consistently contributed to the development of this constituency.”

Madam Siaw pointed to several initiatives she has personally financed over the years, underscoring her dedication to community development. These projects include the clearing of a decades-old refuse dump at Mampong Apostolic, the construction of additional wards at the Mampong Government Hospital, and the financing of the Mampong Tadie AstroTurf facility, among others.

Acknowledging the contributions of the current and former Members of Parliament, she emphasized that much remains to be done. “The current MP and past MPs have played their part, but looking at the present state of Mampong, it is not enough. I believe we can do better, and I am ready to step in and help rewrite the history of this constituency,” she said.

Madam Siaw appealed to delegates to consider her track record and vision as they prepare to elect the party’s parliamentary candidate. She urged party members to support her candidacy, promising that her leadership would usher in a new era of development for Asante Mampong.

As the primaries draw nearer, the contest in Asante Mampong is expected to be highly competitive, with delegates playing a crucial role in determining the party’s representative for the next general elections. Madam Siaw’s active engagement and development-oriented approach are likely to be key factors in winning the confidence of the constituency’s delegates.
