60 Students Receive Holy Spirit Baptism At PENSEC-Kumasi

Sixty students of the Pentecost Senior High School (PENSEC) in Kumasi have received the baptism of the Holy Spirit following a three-day retreat organised by the school from Wednesday, November 9 to Friday, November 11, 2022.

The programme is part of the school’s itinerary and falls within every semester on the school’s academic calendar.

Dubbed, “Spiritual Emphasis,” the exercise was aimed at awakening the spirit of the students, equipping them with the gifts of the Holy Spirit and the word of God to enable them to go through the new birth in Christ Jesus in these distressing times.

Pastor Isaac Koda of Akyiaaso District in the Suame Area of The Church of Pentecost, spoke on the topic, “Loaded Up and Set Out,” with 2 Samuel 7:18 as a Bible reference. He preached on David’s readiness to adhere to his father’s message of delivery at any time and counselled the students on the need to be equipped academically and spiritually to overcome the schemes of the devil in such a time.

Prayers were activated as the Holy Spirit baptised 60 students, with others healed of various ailments and set free from the oppressions of the devil.

Overseer Matthias Wornu, Chaplain of PENSEC-Kumasi, speaking to PENTECOST NEWS after the event, said that expectations had been met to the glory of God and assured that subsequent events would accommodate more students.

He further appealed to stakeholders, non-governmental organisations and the general public to assist the school put up an assembly hall to host their activities.

Some students testified that the retreat was life-transforming; they were looking forward to the newness of life.
