Christians have differing views on AI, with many recognizing its potential to empower individuals. Moreover, Christians in the workforce are reportedly more likely to utilize AI technologies, suggesting a trend towards embracing these tools for work-related tasks. As such, Christians are called to work smart by leveraging AI’s capabilities while maintaining a critical awareness of its ethical dimensions and ensuring that it serves to enhance their lives.
The Area Head of the Church of Pentecost in Obuasi, Prophet David Kankam Beditor encouraged the mine worker and all Christians to adapt and thrive in the unfolding era of artificial intelligence. This message was conveyed during the bi-monthly gathering of Pentecost Mine Workers in and around Obuasi. These regular meetings, organized by the Area Head and the leadership of the group, serves as a platform to offer prayers for the success of the mining sector, particularly the mine in Obuasi, Seek divine protection for the workers, Pray for the benefit there is in the industry for the workers, the people of Obuasi and that of God’s church, Organize programs that enlighten the mine workers for a successful future, Organize programs that seek to create champions in the church, Train the members to be a beacon for the Area in time of need, and Create agents of transformation in the mining industry
Prophet Kankam Beditor in preaching on the topic “Shine to possess your world” picked his biblical quotation from Mathew 5:14-16 – “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
He urged the assembled Pentecost Mine Workers to embody the essence of “SHINE” in their professional pursuits, to ensure they remain relevant amidst the rise of AI in the industry. He elaborated on the acronym “SHINE”, which conveys a potent message for personal growth and wellness.
“S” stands for See Clearly – underlining the need for a lucid vision and comprehension of one’s objectives and the roadmap to attain them. “H” represents Health is Wealth, a reminder that preserving physical and mental health is the cornerstone of a prosperous existence. “I” signifies Innovation, fostering perpetual learning and originality to adapt and flourish in a dynamic world. “N” denotes Neglect not your family, underscoring the importance of relationships and the support network offered by family and friends. Finally, “E” implies Elevate your lifestyle, advocating for proactive efforts to enhance one’s living standards and environment.
He emphasized that these principles, when combined, offer a comprehensive strategy for leading a balanced and rewarding life, ensuring competence in all spheres.
After the sermon, Pastor Vincent Amegah let the workers to pray for the mine in its quest to achieving its set objectives, divine protection and wisdom for the newly appointed Managing Director and the prosperity of Obuasi and Adansiman.
