Aspring MP organizes free skill development for constituents

Grace Agyemang Asamaoh, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for Atwima Kwanwoma Constituency in the Western Region has organized a-fully funded skills development training for her constituents at a cost of over GH₵7,000.000
Participants were trained in liquid soap, shower gel, fabric softener and parazone and were refreshed with snacks at Kotwi on Friday, July 5, 2024
Over hundred women including men in the constituency participated in the training programme which was organized by the aspiring lawmaker as part of her efforts to bring employment to the constituents.
In an interview with DAILY GUIDE, Mrs. Agyemang Asamoah mentioned that, the objective of the training was geared towards equipping the participants particularly the unemployed youth and the women with the needed skills for them to be self-employed.
The objective of the training, she added was also to equip the participants especially with the needed skills to be able to be self-dependent.
“I came to visit the Atwima Kwanwoma women’s wing of the NDC and I had a thought to train those who aren’t having any handiworks so that they can support their families due to the recent economic hardship. I made them invite everyone regardless of his or her political affiliation nor gender and that is why we see some men among us as well,” she added.
The NDC aspiring MP stated, “I have positive plans for Atwima Kwanwoma because this is where I come from. I believe every woman must become wealthy and not rely on others. As the saying goes, “he who educates a man educates one but he who educates a woman educates a nation, hence my decision to help the constituents.”
Mrs. Agyemang Asamoah pledged to establish women banking in the Atwima Kwanwoma constituency when the NDC win power and she becomes the Member of Parliament for the area.
“The district is the second highest in terms of population but we have nothing to boast of and It is my desire lobby for a post office, passport office, DVLA and others when I am voted into power as an MP and with His Excellency John Dramani Mahama’s 24 hour economy, we will benefit much, especially the youth,” she said.
Maame Afua Serwaa, the constituency women’s organizer for the NDC, commended the NDC parliamentary candidate for the support, adding that the training they have received will help them support their families..
“There’s chaos at homes and hardship due to the bad governance so the women are learning to support their families,” she said.
Simon Aloonga and Murtalla Muhammed, the constituency chairman and the communication officer respectively, lauded the PC’s initiative, calling the electorates to change hands by voting for her.
“Considering the current situation in Ghana, if someone decides to freely and heartedly train people into handiworks then person needs to be supported with much prayers so that God grants the person with the needed grace. If a woman is poor and jobless, she’s left with no option than to opt for prostitution which also doesn’t help. We pray for God’s blessings for this woman because it is not easy with the economy we find ourselves in at the moment.
