213 Patients Receive Financial Support from Kofi Job Foundation to Settle Their Hospital Bills

In an extraordinary act of generosity, the Kofi Job Foundation, led by renowned road contractor and philanthropist Kofi Job, has paid a total of GH¢1 million to settle the hospital bills of 213 patients across three major health facilities in Kumasi.

The donation, made on Wednesday, covered the medical expenses of patients at the Kumasi South Hospital, Old Tafo Government Hospital, and Manhyia District Hospital. In addition to settling outstanding bills, the funds were also used to repair and purchase essential medical equipment for these hospitals.

RELIEVING PATIENTS IN NEED

Kofi Job personally visited the three hospitals to hand over the funds to management and meet with patients. His assistance went beyond covering bills for patients on admission. Several new patients, who approached him at the hospital premises, also received financial support ranging from GH¢2,000 to GH¢3,000 to buy prescribed medications and cover other immediate needs.

At the Kumasi South Hospital, Kofi Job paid GH¢120,000 to fund chemotherapy and surgical treatment for two children battling cancer—one with renal cancer and the other with retinoblastoma.

A HEARTFELT MISSION

Speaking to journalists during the visits, Kofi Job shared his motivation for supporting the patients.

“It breaks my heart to see people suffer or lose their lives simply because they cannot afford treatment. I have realized that poverty is a major cause of the deaths in our hospitals. My prayer is that God continues to bless me so that I can continue helping the needy,” he said.

He also emphasized the need for collective responsibility in supporting the vulnerable, urging individuals and organizations to contribute their resources to help those in need.

“The government cannot do it all alone. We must come together as a society to make a difference in the lives of the less fortunate,” he added.

A TOUCH OF SPIRITUALITY

Accompanying Kofi Job were his wife, Dr. Esther Gyebi, and prominent clergy members, including Archbishop Akwasi Asare Bediako of Resurrection Power and Living Bread Ministry, as well as leaders from the Upper Room Assemblies of God Church. Together, they prayed for the patients and their families, offering spiritual support alongside the financial aid.

GRATITUDE FROM HOSPITALS

The donation has been met with immense appreciation from the beneficiary institutions. Dr. Alimatu Salam, a pediatric oncologist at Kumasi South Hospital, expressed gratitude on behalf of her team, particularly for the support given to the cancer patients.

Hospital administrators from Old Tafo Government Hospital and Manhyia District Hospital also praised Kofi Job for his remarkable gesture.

“This generous donation has brought hope and relief to many families who were struggling with medical expenses. We are grateful for his support and pray that God continues to bless him abundantly,” an administrator said.

A LEGACY OF IMPACT

The Kofi Job Foundation’s GH¢1 million intervention has brought relief to hundreds of families in Kumasi, cementing the organization’s reputation as a beacon of hope for the underprivileged. This act of kindness underscores the foundation’s mission to improve the lives of the less fortunate and address critical healthcare challenges in Ghana.
