20 Muslim Communities received food items from Hemang Lower Denkyira MP to crown Ramadan

The Member of Parliament for Hemang Lower Denkyira Constituency, Hon Lawrence Agyinsam, has donated assorted food items worth GHC60,000.00 to the Muslim community in the constituency. The food items include 60 bags of rice.

The NPP Constituency Chairman for Hemang Lower Denkyira, Hon. Abubakar Farouk, who made the donation on behalf of the Member of Parliament to about twenty (20) communities said the donation formed part of his usual support to the Muslim community in the constituency during the holy period of Ramadan. He said the donation will also help deepen the bond between the MP and the Muslim community.

Mr. Farouk expressed gratitude to the Muslim community in the constituency for their fervent prayers for the country and especially for the MP.

Ramadan, the 9 month on the Islamic calendar, is a period of spiritual reflection, compassion, and community for Muslims worldwide. During this time, Muslims observe fasting, known as ‘sawm’ or “siyam,” from dawn to sunset, abstaining from food and drink.

“During Ramadan, Muslims often have to refrain from their normal work, which can affect their livelihood. As Hon Agyinsam is their Muslim brother, he feel it’s necessary to support them with food items to help them during this period,” he explained.

He expressed hope his kind donation would motivate the Muslim community to pray for the country’s well-being.

Additionally, he urged Muslim youth to promote peace and coexist harmoniously with other religious groups.

This donation is not the first time MP Agyinsam has demonstrated his commitment to the welfare of his constituents.

He has been recognised for his efforts in improving healthcare, education, infrastructure, agriculture,Lighting system and security in the Hemang Lower Denkyira constituency.
