The Director of Bloomberg Philanthropies on Road Safety Kelly Larson who led the team said they are all in the country as part of the Africa Regional Partners meeting which is made up of 28 cities from 15 countries world wide who are scheduled to meet from the 18th to 20th January 2023 on road safety issues.
The Director stated that the BIGRS is working keenly to reduce road traffic fatalities and injuries across the globe.
A published summary of road crashes in Kumasi was also presented to the mayor.
Hon. Samuel Pyne said the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly has been able to do a lot with support from Bloomberg Phalathropies and Vital Strategies.
He recounted the training program that was held for 45 Police officers of MTTD in Kumasi, including Metro Guards as well as equipping the Police with modern speed check equipment.
Hon. Pyne informed the team about the mass media campaign activities that have been employed in dessiminating information on road safety within the metropolis and his personal involvement in it.
